After years of being a mom, now a veteran single mom for the last 10 years, you would have never heard me utter the words PAMPERING! Seriously! Who had time for that??? Now I can’t go a day without saying it in regards to myself!! Once I learned how valuable self-care was, not only did I make it a part of my daily life, I made it my business to help others recognize its importance as well! My Posh products are just one of the ways that I have learned to take care of ME…. even if it’s just for a few minutes a day. They made it so simple to just unwind, take in the soothing scents, and push my issues aside. It is totally worth it in the long run!
A few years ago, I stumbled upon this old Indian Proverb as I began my wellness journey…
“There is an Indian proverb or axiom that says that everyone is a house with four rooms, a physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time but, unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person.” –Rumer Godden
It refers to four rooms in a house. In learning about those rooms, they taught me that I couldn’t just focus on one part of myself/my wellness…I must focus on the whole! Just like our heart has 4 chambers, without all 4 functioning properly we’d have some serious issues or wouldn’t be here at all. We live in a time where outside forces tend to influence us negatively. We often feel that we must ‘live up to the expectations of this world, and not of our own. That’s why we must maintain balance within our ‘house’. I’ve found that when my mental, emotional, physical and spiritual self is in alignment, then and only then have I been able to manifest the life I desired. I can totally feel when one of these “rooms’ is out of whack because I tend to feel overly anxious and off kilter.
So how does one find balance within their four rooms? If you’d like to learn more ways to balance your four rooms, head over to The Intentional Workplace for better explanations on how to do this! You won’t regret it!
I have learned that EVERY DAY is the perfect day to recharge our batteries and do something for us! If you can’t manage to get in some ME-TIME daily most people normally aim for the weekend…mainly on Sunday. Our body is our temple, we can’t neglect it. Our body needs regular attention and maintenance in order to help us lead a more happy, healthier life! What condition are your 4 rooms in? Which one do you visit the most often? Make it a point to learn more about balancing your 4 wellness points to ensure that you are ‘airing’ out your house properly each day! Taking time for you is not selfish, it is oh so necessary!
Until next time, hugs!!
